About the Appraiser

Noble J. Handy, MAI (Jon) has appraised commercial real estate since 2012. Formally, a bank lender for 18 years, he’d been a frequent user of appraisal reports.  As such, he developed a keen interest in the subject. He earned a certified general appraiser’s license in 2015 and an MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 2017. Prior to creating Bearing Commercial Appraisal in 2015 (along with Greg D. Baker, MAI), Jon worked for a small independent appraiser and later as an appraiser for world’s largest commercial real estate services company, CBRE. He’s been a resident of Colorado Springs since 2000.

Why choose Bearing Commercial Appraisal?

Value can’t be considered without context.  Estimating value requires understanding more about a property than its physical description. One needs to consider unapparent characteristics that affect value. These include access to utilities, adverse easements, property line encroachments, the effect that a lease (or a lack of a lease, depending on the property type) might have on buyer type and ultimately on the value. Credible valuation requires thoroughness, a strong knowledge of the local real estate market, and above all it requires integrity. This is why you would choose us for your commercial appraisal needs.
